Karachi Board 11th Class Result 2026 Announced — BIEK HSC Part-I Pre-Medical, Commerce, Arts & More

First-year students in Karachi have their results. The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) announced the Intermediate Part-I (Class XI / 1st Year) Annual Examination 2026 results for all remaining groups on Monday, 26 October 2026, on the instructions of BIEK Chairman Faqir Muhammad Lakho. The announcement, recorded in BIEK Press Release No. BIEK/PR/152/2026 dated 26 October 2026, covers Science Pre-Medical, Science General, Commerce (Regular and Private), Humanities/Arts (Regular and Private), Special Candidates (Arts Regular) and Home Economics. It completes the Karachi first-year picture for 2026: the Science Pre-Engineering group had already been announced separately earlier in October, on 2 October 2026, so this post is only about the groups declared on 26 October. This guide explains how to check your result by seat (roll) number on the board website and app, how to use the official gazette, what each group's pass percentage was, what the new 'Ungraded' rule means if you scored below 40 per cent in a paper, and what to do next.

The announcement: which groups were declared on 26 October 2026

BIEK does not release all of its intermediate groups on a single day. For the HSC Part-I Annual Examination 2026, the Science Pre-Engineering group came first, on 2 October 2026. The 26 October 2026 announcement covers everything else: Science Pre-Medical, Science General, Commerce Regular, Commerce Private, Humanities/Arts Regular, Humanities/Arts Private, Special Candidates (Arts Regular) and Home Economics. If your group is Pre-Engineering, your result was already out weeks ago — do not wait for a second announcement for that group.

The results are published as gazette lists in which candidates are grouped by how many papers they passed, with the marks for each paper shown beside the seat number. That format matters for first-year students: unlike a simple pass-or-fail list, the gazette tells you exactly which papers you cleared and which ones still need work. Keep your seat number slip ready before you start searching, because every checking method — the website, the app and the gazette — is built around that number. The online copy of your result is provisional; the board's own record, issued through the board and your college, is the official one.

Students and parents should be careful about one common confusion. BIEK is Karachi's intermediate board, while the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) handles Karachi's matric (SSC) examinations. A first-year result belongs to BIEK, not BSEK. Our guide to the difference between BSEK and BIEK explains which board handles what, and the books catalogue and solved notes library can help with the next class once you know your result.

How to check your Karachi 11th class result online

The most direct way to see your result is the board's own website. On announcement day the site gets heavy traffic, so if a page does not load on the first try, wait a few minutes and try again rather than submitting the same search repeatedly. The steps below follow the method described in the announcement reports.

Before you begin, make sure you are looking at the HSC Part-I Annual 2026 result for your own group. Selecting the wrong group — for example, Commerce when you sat Pre-Medical — will simply return no record, even though your result has been announced. Double-check the group name on your admit card before searching.

  • Step 1: Open the official BIEK website at www.biek.edu.pk and go to the result section.
  • Step 2: Select HSC Part-I Annual Examination 2026 and then your group (for example, Science Pre-Medical or Commerce Regular).
  • Step 3: Enter your seat (roll) number exactly as printed on your admit card.
  • Step 4: Submit the search and wait for your detailed result to appear.
  • Step 5: Check your name, seat number and subject-wise marks, then save a screenshot or print the page for your records.

Check by gazette and the official BIEK app

The second method is the official result gazette: the complete PDF list of candidates' results published on the board website. For the Commerce Regular group, the board released a 172-page gazette containing the seat numbers and marks of candidates who passed one or more examination papers. Download the gazette PDF for your group, open it, and use your reader's search function — Ctrl+F on a computer, or the search option in a mobile PDF app — to find your seat number. The gazette is slower than the portal for a single student, but it is the best fallback when the website is busy, and it serves as the official record of the announcement.

BIEK also provides its results through its official Android app, available on the Google Play Store by searching for 'BIEK'. The app route uses the same seat-number search as the website. This guide uses only the checking methods confirmed in the announcement reports — the board website, the official app and the gazette. Do not pay for, or trust, result codes circulating on unofficial pages unless BIEK itself publishes one for this result. Key statistics: pass percentages group by group

Across the eight groups announced on 26 October 2026, 91,575 candidates appeared and 41,501 passed all of their papers, an overall pass rate of 45.32 per cent. The pass percentage here means candidates who cleared every paper of their group — six papers for Science and Arts groups, seven for Commerce and Home Economics — as reported from the board's figures. A candidate who passed some papers but not all of them is listed in the gazette under the number of papers passed, not counted in the 'passed all papers' total.

Science Pre-Medical saw 24,544 candidates appear out of 25,157 registered, with 11,966 passing all six papers — a pass rate of 48.75 per cent. Science General recorded 15,036 passes out of 30,386 who appeared, at 49.48 per cent, the highest rate among the large groups. Commerce Regular, the largest single group after Science General, had 22,693 appear and 9,332 pass all papers (41.12 per cent), while Commerce Private recorded 628 passes out of 1,413 who appeared (44.44 per cent).

Humanities (Arts) Regular recorded 3,748 passes out of 10,678 who appeared (35.10 per cent), and Humanities (Arts) Private recorded 692 passes out of 1,623 (42.64 per cent). Special Candidates (Arts Regular) had the highest pass rate of the announcement at 59.79 per cent (58 out of 97), while Home Economics recorded the lowest at 29.08 per cent (41 out of 141). These are group averages, not individual verdicts: a student who passed four of six papers is much closer to completing first year than the headline percentage suggests, because only the remaining papers need to be retaken.

The new grading rule: what 'Ungraded' means

This year's Intermediate Part-I results use a new grading system introduced following decisions by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) and the Sindh government's Universities and Boards Department. Under it, a candidate who scores below 40 per cent in any paper is declared 'Ungraded' in that paper. An Ungraded paper is not counted as passed, even if the candidate's overall total looks comfortable.

The practical consequence is straightforward: you must reappear in any paper in which you were declared Ungraded, provided you meet the other eligibility conditions for taking that examination. Science groups' optional subjects in this cycle were checked through E-Assessment (OMR) and E-Marking, according to the announcement reports. If a paper shows as Ungraded on your result, do not assume it will be adjusted later — watch BIEK's official announcements for the improvement and supplementary examination schedule and form submission dates, and prepare for that paper as a separate examination.

What to do next: scrutiny, reappearing and 12th class

First, verify your details. Compare your name, seat number and subject-wise marks against your admit card, and report any mismatch to your college and the board promptly — corrections become harder once the official record is finalised. Keep a saved copy of your online result, but remember it is provisional until the board's official record is issued.

If you believe a paper was not marked correctly, BIEK's scrutiny and rechecking route is separate from simply checking the result. Apply only through BIEK's official scrutiny notice for this examination, and confirm the fee and deadline in that notice before applying — this post does not state a fee or deadline because none was verified for this announcement. Our guide to scrutiny and rechecking in Sindh explains how the process works in general, but the board's own notice for HSC Part-I 2026 is the authority for your application.

If you have Ungraded papers, start preparing for those papers now rather than waiting for the supplementary schedule to be published. First-year marks feed into your composite intermediate total, so a strong 12th-class performance, combined with cleared first-year papers, still leaves you well placed for university and entry-test admissions. Students who cleared everything should turn their full attention to 12th class, where the Part-II result carries the decisive weight.
